Yi-Wen (Penny) Chen
PhD Candidate in Quantitative Marketing, Columbia Business School
I am a PhD candidate in Quantitative Marketing at Columbia Business School. My research integrates causal inference, machine learning, and optimization to develop methodological tools that tackle key challenges in targeting policy design under real-world constraints, such as operational capacity limits and data collection costs. I also study strategic interactions in the influencer and creator economy, examining the relationships between platforms, brands, creators, and consumers through a game-theoretic approach.
I received an M.A. in Economics and an LL.B. in Law (with minor in Political Science), both from National Taiwan University. Prior to my PhD, I worked as a data scientist in the industry.
I am on the 2026–2027 job market.
